The End of an Era: The Last Gippsland Lakes Fisherman exhibition opened on Tuesday at the Slipway and with it the exciting news that ABC program Backroads will be filming on Saturday, February 8.
The exhibition details in pictures the final weeks of the commercial lake fishing industry prior to its closure in early 2020.
Nowa Nowa Men’s Choir, Harry Hook, Saturday Weavers, Ingrid Innes and Anli Vuong and the East Gippsland Winter Festival Sea Hags along with many others will be there.
Slipway encourages all to attend and create a crowd for the filming, peaking between 5pm and 7pm, for a seafood dinner from Minatour, beer by Sailors Grave and lattes by Gippsland Jersey.
Backroads will also be involving Nungurner Primary School in its visit this Friday.
