The Gippsland Bowls Region Weekend Superleague pennant competition resumes this Saturday, with just two rounds remaining.
Reigning premier Bairnsdale is ensured a top of the table finish, with a group of eight teams still in the running to fill the last four finals spots.
Spots two through to five are currently occupied by Lindenow, Lakes Entrance 1, Sale 1 and Paynesville but Metung, Lakes Entrance 2 and Maffra will know if they get it right, they to could be part of the finals action.
The stakes will be high and all rinks vital as clubs try to bank as many points to secure that all important berth.
THIS WEEK’S MATCHES
Division One
Lindenow (second) v Lakes Entrance 2 (seventh): A must-win game for Lakes Entrance 2 who will probably need two wins to proceed to finals action. Lindenow will lock away a finals spot if victorious and if they don’t, should be too good for Sale 2 in the final round.
Lakes Entrance 1 (third) v Orbost (11th): You would think with so much to play for that Lakes Entrance 1 should have too much class for Orbost, but this match has a little bit of extra spice with current Lakes Entrance club singles champion Bradley Lancaster taking on his old side for the first time, a team he tasted ultimate competition success with several times.
Division Two
Lindenow v Lakes Entrance 3; Lakes Entrance 4 v Bairnsdale 2.
Division Three
Lake Entrance 5 v Howitt Park; Bairnsdale 4 v Lakes Entrance 6.
