Organisers were pleased to see improved numbers tackle last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun with 45 people either running, jogging or walking the course, of whom nine were first timers and eight recorded new personal bests.
The event was led home by Jamie Darcy in an impressive time of 17 minutes and 32 seconds, finishing well ahead of Paul Etheridge (21.45) and Ashly Knur (21.54).
Knur ran a personal best time for the second consecutive week, knocking 22 seconds of his time in a sensational effort.
The first women home was teenager Mia Calleja in fourth place overall, crossing the line in 22 minutes and four seconds.
Other personal bests were recorded by Grace Holberton (28.00), Max Stuckey (30.53), Warren Stuckey (30.36), Guy Cruickshank (32.35), Glenn Reggardo (39.33), Suzie Cruickshank (44.43) and Andrea Twaddle (48.48).
Running groups represented in the event were Lakes and District Runners, Southern Peninsula Sports Club, Everlasting Fitness Group, Australia Post Group and Intraining.
The event takes place at Lakes Entrance Rotunda, Memorial Park from 8am every Saturday morning.
