Lakes Entrance Amateur Basketball Association’s women’s domestic season culminated last week with grand final victories to Lakes Chicks and the Jammers.

Lakes Chics defeated Semi-Pro in the “A” grade final 24-23, with the lead changing hands numerous times up the final stretch.

Match MVP Natalie Bire led the scoring for Semi Pro finishing with 12 points, while Holly Hanratty was the leading score for the winners with eight.

The Jammers were much too good in the “B” grade final, comprehensive victors 36-8, with Abbey Yates (16) and Mieka Pitt (13), both having good games at the offensive end, Claudia Reggardo was named the MVP for the match.

After the matches the competition’s MVP for the season was presented to Makayla Grabham, with runner-up Bire.

“B” grade runners-up, The Shakers: Kristina Connally, Georgia Kenny, Verity Jakins, Danielle Piper, Alicia Friend, Bree Dale and Lauren Alsop. (PS)

“A” grade runners-up, Semi Pro: Natalie Bire, Emma Wolffenbuttel, Kelly Poynton, Kaitlyn Young, Melanie Clifford, Jessica McManus, Karen Murphy and Kat Middleton. (PS)
“A” grade premiers, Lakes Chics: Holly Hanratty, Makayla Grabham. Kelly Jones, Alyssa Witham, Zara Frost, Amelia Harrison, Alissah Edwards and Rachael Morrison. (PS)
