A sea of pink

A sea of pink

Surf Life Saving Lakes Entrance (SLSLE) celebrated the club's ladies with its annual Pink Patrol last Saturday.
Life Saving Victoria has stated its 'Pink Patrol Mission' is "to acknowledge and celebrate the contribution of girls and women in shaping the lifesaving movement, and in doing so, make the opportunities and pathways in lifesaving more visible".
SLSLE captain, Eden McMillan, said this is something the club has been celebrating for many years and "it has become one of our biggest events of the season".
"This day helps to promote and encourage women in lifesaving and in general to show how capable we are in a male-dominated field," she said.
"Over the years our percentage of women in the club in general has grown, as well as women in leadership. The percentage of girls in nippers has actual met if not overtaken the number of boys."
