A terrific hook up

The Hooked on Lakes Entrance festival held last Sunday was a huge success with the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) collaborating with Lakes Entrance Events to put on an even bigger and better event this year.
The weather turned from a smoky, cool morning into a bright and sunny day which brought visitors and locals out to enjoy the event which attracted seafood lovers and recreational anglers looking for food, fishing and family fun.
The day showcased Lakes Entrance as a fishing mecca, home to one of Australia's largest commercial fishing fleets and popular with recreational fishers.
It also showcased the wonderful array of Victorian seafood caught by commercial fishers in the Gippsland region, other local produce and great fishing spots to take the family and wet a line.
Chief executive officer of the VFA, Travis Dowling, said fisheries was over the moon as to how well the day was received.
