The next wave of lifesavers

The Lakes Entrance Surf Life Saving Club Nippers program is in full swing, with 100 Nippers attending and enjoying themselves each and every week.
Nippers started early this season with preliminary swims completed in late October, with the start of the first nippers session on Sunday, November 6. The program runs for 13 weeks and will continue until February 2023.
“Nippers is a great program where children can learn whilst being in a fun and safe environment,” club president Brendan Van Dam said.
“With the program now into week six, there is a noticeable difference in the children’s surf awareness, swimming and board skills since week one, with a lot of parents pleased with the progress.
The Lakes Entrance nippers have three nipper carnivals coming up which are running back-to-back in January. They are the Woodside SLSC Nippers Carnival on January 8, Seaspray carnival on January 15 and the home town carnival on January 22.
