Alpine Rally a success

Alpine Rally a success

The Alpine Rally centenary event went off with a bang in East Gippsland over the weekend.
Fittingly, the number one plated car piloted by New South Wales' Nathan Quinn and Ray Winwood Smith, in a 1970 Mazda RX2, was the first place getter.
The duo finished ahead of fellow new south Welshmen, Andrew and David Travis in a Nissan Gazelle, while Claude Murray and Lizzy Ferme, also of New South Wales, were third in their Datsun P510.
An emotional Quinn was thrilled with the victory.
"I guess I'm a proper rally driver now," he said in the immediate aftermath of the final stage.
"It's only taken 13 years, so really happy.
