Potholes increasing

Like most country communities Nowa Nowa residents are concerned about the state of local roads, particularly the ever-repaired Princes Highway.
They have witnessed patches being repaired only to break up within days. One noted problem pothole was  repaired and three days later repaired again.
"They are not potholes, they are money pits," one concerned resident said.
Of particular concern is a patch of road at the intersection of Fairweather Track and the Princes Highway. The Lakes Post witnessed two near collisions within a short time as small cars and 4WDs towing caravans veered over the double lines trying to avoid damage to their vehicles.
"The problem is there is no table drain, with the side of the road being the same level as the road surface, meaning all water sits on the road instead of draining off," the resident said.
