Hayley Ingram was one of the first students to complete Forget Me Not Floristry’s Introduction to Floristry course at their Lakes Entrance shop.
Recently Hayley, her parents and Orbost Education Centre (OEC) manager Merralyn Barnes attended the 2024 Learn Local awards at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, where Hayley was a nominee in the Ro-Allen-Pre-accredited Learner award.
Nominated by Merralyn for her outstanding effort in following her dreams after studying at the OEC Introduction to Floristry course, Hayley then completed both her certificate II and Certificate III in Floristry at Melbourne Polytechnic in Melbourne.
Again, this year Forget Me Not Floristry and both the Introduction to Floristry and Level 2 Working in Floristry course learners were successful in their submission of designing and supplying the beautiful arrangements for Learn Local awards.
“It was an exciting experience,” Forget Me Not’s Naomi Pryke said.
“We were given a colour palate and had to design an arrangement, make it up and do all the quoting, then submit for judging. It is the second time in three years that we have been successful in winning the contract to supply the floral arrangements for the awards,” she said.
“It is a huge achievement for all involved and I was so proud that our course learners and trainers did an outstanding job again this year. We look forward to continuing to offer courses in Adult Education in 2025,” Merralyn said.
Forget Me Not Studios has now had over 150 students complete their courses.
