Lakes Entrance Netball Association (LENA) recently presented Kylie Curnow with a Life Membership last week as recognition of her contribution and dedication to local netball and the community.
Curnow began as a player within LENA and then joined the committee in 2014, later taking on the role of president in which she still currently holds.
Over the past 10 years, Curnow has been instrumental in helping establish the popular Net Set Go competitions for junior players, mixed netball seasons for all ages and abilities, coaching players and supporting other members within the LENA committee.
One of Curnow’s biggest achievements has been establishing the inaugural beach netball competition held in Lakes Entrance every summer.
With the support of Netball Victoria, the beach netball competition is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary in January 2025.
Curnow’s passion and commitment has provided many aspiring athletes with opportunities to develop their skills, access opportunities to play netball and helped to promote netball in the local community.
Kate is truly humbled to receive, the award, keen to note her efforts have come with plenty of support over the years.
“I am truly honoured to receive a life membership, this recognition is a reflection not just of my efforts, but also of the support and encouragement I have received from my committee, friends, teammates, and the wider netball community,” she said.
With still plenty to achieve at the LENA, and Curnow driving the ship, netball in Lakes Entrance is in great hands.
