Idyllic conditions for golf made for good scoring in most events held at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club last week.
Faye Hammond continued her recent domination of Tuesday’s young and restless event while Ian Stephens (“A” grade) and Dave Griffiths (“B” grade) were the winners of ruthless and toothless.
Wednesday saw the ladies enjoy the Irish foursomes’ concept with Katrina Fearnley, Renee Percival, Lori Murray and Jenny Kesper coming out on top.
Garry Watson struck the ball well last Thursday winning “A” grade and the men’s competition outright with 41 points, with Mark Johns and Ron Brymer, winning “B” and “C” grade respectively.
There were great efforts by Ernie Banks and Luke Don to score eagles on the seventh and 14th holes respectively.
Last Saturday again saw a capacity field with the event and “C” grade taken out by Andrew Douglas, with the other winners being Brad Marsden (“B” grade) and Leo O’Keefe (“C” grade).
As always the women’s event was hotly contested with the winners being Betty Martino with 41 points and Margaret Ellis with 37.
