Metung Swan Reach and Wy Yung will both be chasing their second victory of the season when they resume hostilities on day two of the round four Bairnsdale Cricket Association at the Swan Reach Recreation Reserve this Saturday.
The Tigers will resume at 3/34, with Cameron McPhan, Darcy Murray and Indika Hamilage all out cheaply, Swans seamer Royce Colgrave causing havoc with the new ball taking 2/23.
Ben Saxon, who is not out on 10, appears to hold the key to the match, his dismal on day two early could see the Swans the winners.
The veteran has the ability to bat long periods of time and a worthwhile partnership with youngster Harry Forbes or an experienced head such as Damian Vicary will be important.
Earlier the Swans were dismissed for 194 in the 70th over, with solid contributions in middle order from Jordan Hack (45) and Forhad Haque (64), the latter who has been in fine form with the bat.
A late order partnership between Charlie Thompson (16) and Jesse Hack (15) helped lift the score to a competitive total, which certainly looks above par on what is a much-maligned Swan Reach wicket.
Veterans Murray (4/53) and Saxon (3/13) shared the wickets for the Tigers.
