St Brendan’s Primary School hosted an East Gippsland Environmental School’s Day on Monday, October 14, giving students from the local Lakes Entrance-based schools the opportunity to participate in six different environmentally theme-based activities that focused on the unique environments and the life they support in East Gippsland.
Educators and facilitators from Parks Victoria, Marine Mammal Foundation, Fishcare Victoria, Victorian Fisheries Authority, Coastcare and East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority delivered a diverse range of activities which focussed on local rivers, the land, marine mammals, sustainable fishing and compliance and included an amazing range of local marine and native wildlife.
Grade 5-6 students from St Brendan’s and Lakes Entrance primary schools took part, the activities proving a great success and being enjoyed by all that attended.
A special thanks was handed to St Brendan’s Primary School for hosting the event and to everyone who took part.
