Lakes Entrance, Bairnsdale, Orbost, Metung and Paynesville have once more shown their generosity during Legacy Week according to president/secretary of the East Gippsland Legacy Group’s Tony Webb.
“On behalf of all widows, beneficiaries and Legatees thank you East Gippsland community for your generous donations helping us raise just over $12,400,” Tony said.
Legacy Week is held in September raising funds by selling badges and bears. All monies raised stays in the East Gippsland region and provides care and support for local individuals and families.
“It is very heart warming that the local community continue strong support for Legacy during its annual fundraiser, particularly in the hard economic times,” he said.
Tony especially thanked all those Legatees and volunteers who assisted selling the bears and badges.
