Another big week of golf at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club was highlighted by monthly medal day for both the men and women.

Wednesday’s ladies event attracted 32 players and the medal was won by

Margaret Ellis with a score of 69, with Rhonda Beckett winning “A” grade with 70.

Saturday’s men’s medal was hotly contested with 86 entries and some very impressive scoring.

Club president David Smythe snared the medal with a 77 off the stick, which equated to a superb 65 nett.

Not far away was “B” grade winner Chris Verall and “C” grade winner Ian Stephens with scores of 67 and 68 respectively, most months a winning score.

The ladies victor on Saturday was Di Dickson who continued her outstanding recent form.

Tuesday winners were Margaret Simpson (Young and the Rest of Us), Justin Gray and Dave Congalton (both Ruthless and Toothless).

Thursday’s medley stableford saw 82 players take to the course, with the overall winner being “C” grade player Patrick Kinsella with a sensational 44 points.

Other winners were Shane Sproule (“A” grade) and Michael Johns (“B” grade).

Di Dickson continued her good recent form winning the Saturday ladies event at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club. (PS)
