There have been some great reports of quality fish landed over the past week, including some magnificent sharks caught off the 90 Mile Beach.
Lakes Entrance – Salmon are being landed off the Main and Eastern Beaches and in the lake on the incoming tide. Snapper can be found offshore at Six Mile Reef, gummies are being caught closer to shore. For trevally, bream and luderick give from Cunningham Arm up to Nungurner a try.
Lake Tyers – Flathead are starting to bite in the system, bream are up in the Arms chasing bait and lures. Salmon can be found off the surf beaches.
Mitchell River – Bream are spawning and very active, best results with local shrimp, sandworm, cut crab and lures.
Tambo River – For bream try from the mouth of the river to the highway bridge, using peeled prawn and shrimp.
Nicholson – There are plenty of nice sized bream in the river, biting on lures and live bait, best results casting into the middle of the river.
Metung – Off the jetty near the hotel and along the boardwalk for bream using pippies or local prawn. Around the structures in Lake King for dusky flathead with plastics. King George whiting are also about and active.
Marlo – Lake Corringle has bream, mullet and luderick biting on sandworm, local prawn and metal lures. Gummies can be caught straight out offshore from Cape Conran. Flathead are starting off a bit slow but will hopefully pick up as the weather improves. Snowy River for perch on lures, bream are around the islands taking lures and bait.
Bemm River – Salmon can be found in the channel chasing metal lures, and over the surf beach taking pilchards. Bream are in the river and lake, biting on local prawn and sandworm. The entrance remains open.
Omeo High Country – Trout season kicked off to a great start with nice sized trout being landed through out the area. Please check the weather forecast before venturing out, as conditions can still be unpredictable.
