A rich part of the town’s fabric, Bairnsdale Bowls Club has been a popular meeting place for locals and visitors since its opening in 1901.
Today, the family-friendly club features an excellent bistro and entertainment facility, three bars, a members’ and public lounge, three grass bowling greens and four full-size croquet lawns.
The club welcomes new players and frequently hold come and try events. The club’s fully-licensed Krakkerjack Bistro is a favourite with locals, offering a seasonal menu of mouth-watering and reasonably-priced meals incorporating fresh, local ingredients whenever possible.
Krakkerjack is open for lunch and dinner every day. Daily special meals are offered, and club members enjoy discounts on food and beverages.
The bistro’s lunch menu includes slow-cooked roast of the day, local catch of the day, chicken parma and chips, to name a few.
If you are there for dinner, your meal options include beef satay skewers, 300g scotch fillet steak, lamb ragu, gnocchi, fettuccini carbonara, lamb Cutlets, club hamburger, creamy garlic prawns with rice pilaf, infused in Moroccan spices, and much more.
The bistro also offers toasted sandwiches and a selected range of $17 light/senior meals, as well as kids meals (for those aged under 12) including fish and chips, nuggets and chips, a half.
size chicken schnitzel and chips, and a range of other kids’ meal choices.
All adult lunch and dinner meals are served with your choice of chips/salad or vegetables, and both menus include gluten-free and vegetarian options. Pizza available all day for $10.
The Krakkerjack Bistro is open for lunch every day from noon to 2pm, and for dinner every day from 6pm-8pm. The club also runs regular promotions throughout the year, offering the chance to win a prize.
These promotions currently in-dude Thursday and Friday night members’ draws, and Friday night raffles.
Bairnsdale Bowls Club is also a popular event venue, with a function room that can cater for more than 100 guests.
The club has excellent on and off-street car parking, as well as free Wi-Fi for members and guests. Bairnsdale Bowls Club is located at the corner of Grant and Pearson Streets Bairnsdale, and is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to late, and Sundays from 10am to late.
