Another huge week of golf at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club was highlighted by last Wednesday’s ladies invitational, which attracted a strong field of 44 players.
It was great to see players from throughout the East Gippsland region unite for day of fun and golf on the magnificent fairways.
The “A” event was won by Sale’s Jo Ballinger (36 points), who finished ahead of local Di Dickson (35), while “B” grade was dominated by Patty Smith (43) and Val Gilbert (40).
Metung’s Juliet Miskin took out the visitors award.
Saturday’s grand final event was well supported with many players taking the opportunity to tee off early.
The winners of the men’s events were Steve Johnson (38), David Cuthbertson (40), Terry Williams (40), while in the ladies, Kath Sharpley and Rhonda Beckett (39) were successful.
A big field of 84 took to the fairways for last Thursday’s men’s stableford event with the winners being Colin Elliott (43), Peter Kane (39) and John Melrose (40).
Tuesday men’s winners of the ambrose competition were Gary Watson, Justin Gray, Bernie Hoppe and Graham Wells, while in the women’s event, Marie Te Wierk was a popular victor.
