Local establishments soaked up the AFL Grand Final day atmosphere last Saturday.
Crowds packed into local venues to watch the Sydney Swans take on the Brisbane Lions at the MCG, the Lions proving a class above the minor premier, surging to a 60-point win in front of a crowd of more than 100,000 and more than four million television viewers.
The Central Hotel embraced the festivities, holding a sausage sizzle at half time with every dollar raised going to the Lakes Entrance Prostate Cancer Support Group.
The Lakes Entrance Prostate Cancer Support Group was formed in May 2022, with meetings held every second month.
The group was set up to provide support to men in the local community who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, to share common experiences and raise awareness of prostate cancer in a safe and confidential environment.
The grand final and school holidays has culminated in the town enjoying a busy post-winter period with high expectations for an exceptional summer.
