The date for the Lions Club of Gippsland Lakes Lionesses Community Expo has almost arrived and the club has been thrilled with the positive feedback and expects the event to be a huge success.
To date there are 48 organisations involved. The event will be held on Sunday, October 6, from 10am to 2pm.
The aim of the expo is to encourage and inform the people of the Lakes Entrance community, whether new to the area or old, just how many clubs, sports, community groups are in the area.
“Bring the whole family, there is something for everyone with 45 not-for-profit community groups and clubs for you to check out and see what they are all about,” the Lionesses said.
“There will be sports club, interest groups, Landcare groups, history groups, entertainment groups, singing and dancing groups, hobby groups and more. Static displays, CFA fire truck, Community CFA Bus, Coast Guard Rib display, mobile visitor information van and other displays and activities.”
The expo will be utilising the hall, the foyer, the Seahorse meeting room and the area in front of the library, as well as a large area of the carpark.
Participants are now planning their displays to attract as much attention as possible with photos, activities, pamphlets, anything that will encourage your interest and give you an informative idea of what is available and how easy it is to become involved in Lakes Entrance.
The Lions Club of Lakes Entrance will be providing a free sausage sizzle and there will be the Lioness’ famous Devonshire Teas. The not-for-profit event is proudly sponsored by LEADA Business and Tourism.
