Racing returns to Bairnsdale this Sunday, with the running of the 2024 Lakes Entrance Cup.
The event is the one of the feature race days for the season for Bairnsdale Racing Club and a great opportunity for local racegoers to engage in the spring racing spirit.
The club offers a number of dining package, as well as the Albert & Co’s pop-up kitchen providing a range of eating options.
Families are encouraged to be part of the trackside action, with children 17 and under admitted for free.
A courtesy bus will be operating from Lakes Entrance, leaving the Central Hotel at 10.45am.
The bus will all stop at the Metung General Store (11.05am), Swan Reach Service Station (11.15am), Johnsonville BP Service station (11.20am) and Nicholson V-Line bus stop (11.30am).
Pre-booking is highly recommended to secure your seat, with buses departing the racecourse half an hour after the last race.
The best value on race day is general admission, with access to the Tesbury Jack Lawn Bar, big screen for all the day’s racing action and TAB facilities in close proximity.
The $27,000 Lakes Entrance Cup will again be run over a mile. Last year’s event was won by Seasons In De Sun for Mornington trainer, Tony Noonan, ridden to victory by his son Jake.
