Lakes Entrance Football Netball held its annual vote count day last Sunday at the Lakeside Oval, with Angus McKenzie and Abbey Yates winning the major awards.
The senior football award came down to a spirited duel between co-captains McKenzie and Liam Carroll, who both missed games in the back half of the season.
McKenzie was victorious by 11 votes, with goalkicking forward Tom Hudson a distant third.
Voting in the “A” grade netball was a close contest with the top
five finishers separated by just 10 votes.
Abbey Yates (30) came out on top of Brodie Stubbs (29), Tilly Richardson (27), Meika Pitt (21) and Poppy Carroll (20).
Andrew Hatch was rewarded for a consistent season in the reserves with a runaway win the best and fairest, with Andrew Rimmer finishing runner-up.
Brittney Seccull (36) was the winner of the “B” grade netball, finishing ahead of Tommi Carroll (30), who polled votes in most games.
Bec Rotheram (38) was successful in “C” grade from Reghan Radford (29) and Abbey Le Maitre (28), while Fiona Yates (43) was a runaway winner in “D” grade from Gabi Wright (35).
Kurt Grabham, who debuted in the seniors in 2024, was the winner of the thirds award, with Angus Stevens runner-up, narrowly ahead of his brother Max.
In a high-scoring under 17 netball count, Matilda Richardson (39) came out on top of Lucy Carroll (35). Taylah Alsop (34) was the winner in the under 15’s, with Tulli McLeod not far away in second.
Presentation night will be held this Friday at the Central Hotel.
