Lakes Entrance was buzzing with joy on Tuesday, August 20, as Lakes Entrance Primary School students, teachers and families paraded through town for the annual Book Week celebration.
From classic fairytale figures to modern day heroes, the students’ creativity was on full display as they lit up the streets and foreshore with colourful costumes and big smiles.
The event, which promotes literacy and imagination, began at the school and continued through Myer Street, stopping at the footbridge, the foreshore and Slipway, where students eagerly gathered to hear the teachers share their favourite books.
The parade is now a highlight for the students and this year’s event did not disappoint. The students and community were left with a renewed appreciation for the magic of reading and storytelling.
