A community group, Light Up LTB, is a handful of the Lake Tyers Beach residents with the idea of enhancing their area. They are ensuring inclusivity for everyone.
They formed in March and their aims include improving roads and footpaths as well as local amenities, including accessible and upgraded toilets.
The group want to bring Christmas cheer to the neighbourhood and enhance the area during the festive season, so their theme is ‘Let’s Light Up LTB for Christmas’. Decorations and solar lights will be placed along parts of Lake Tyers Beach Road.
The local Toorloo Arm Primary School will be joining in the festivities by painting a banner with a festive theme. It will be placed on a wall surrounded by Christmas lights and lanterns opposite the Lake Tyers Tavern.
Funds are being raised by having raffle nights at the Lake Tyers Beach Tavern. One successful raffle has already been held, which was strongly supported by the community.
There are two more planned for Friday, September 6 and 27.
