Gippsland Lakes Fishing Club was kept busy last weekend, weighing in some outstanding fish caught by some of the region’s youngest anglers.
Zane Coyle led the way with a pending Australian record, catching a beast of a porbeagle shark.
The shark weighed an incredible 119 kilograms and could well be the biggest caught in Australia.
Another youngster, Bailey Harris, was pleased to land his first porbeagle, his catch 69 kilograms.
After a four-hour fight, Nicolas Gilham landed a magnificent swordfish.
The 133 kilogram species ensured young Nicolas of a day to remember.
