Lakes Entrance’s senior and reserves East Gippsland football seasons will conclude following this Saturday’s final home and away fixtures against Wy Yung at Tigerland.
What started as a positive season for the Seagulls – the reserves dominated the opening month of the season and for a large part have been in the finals race, while the senior team has challenged the finals bound sides – has turned somewhat negative after a slew of injuries derailed recent weeks.
Having said that the Seagulls will be eager to end the season on a good note and will be excited to take on the challenge the reigning senior and reserves premiers present.
Senior coach Ben Rotheram has been eager to build a strong culture and despite recent results has seen his core group stick together in the hope of building towards success in the coming years.
Lakes’ thirds get a week’s rest before heading into a finals campaign where they have locked in a double chance after beating Orbost Snowy.
The young Seagulls are fit and firing at the right time and could push ladder leader Lindenow in the first week of finals.
meanwhile on the netball court the “B” grade, “D” grade and under 17 girls will be building up for the finals campaigns as well, all hoping to build some confidence against the always challenging Tigers.
