Looking for something different to do over the long winter?
Well, an event coming to Lakes Entrance will guarantee your mind, fitness and teamwork abilities are tested in a fun and exhilarating way.
Lakes Entrance Amazing Race is being organised by Rogue Kelly from The Cove Café for September 7 and will involve racing through the Lakes district in teams or as individual adventurers completing tasks and following clues.
“I have started the amazing race as a way to get the town together for a fun-filled day of challenges, riddles, puzzles and activities to enhance bonding within teams, families and just for some super fun together,” Rogue said.
Rogue had watched movies, games shows and stories about these type of challenge games and now with your help there can be one in our town.
The challenge will start at The Cove Café which is located across the footbridge.
“Speed and accuracy will get the points as each team is given code words, riddles and activities, for example decorating cupcakes at a bakery. Once one puzzle and activity is solved that business will give the next clue. We eventually end up back at The Cove for the presentations,” she said.
“There is an entry fee with all profits from the day going to the local CFA. We are looking for businesses to come on board and join the fun. A few teams have already signed up, but we are looking for more.”
Rogue has done something similar to this when she lived in Toowoomba and it worked well.
“It is a chance to bond, which would be a great thing for our town. We want everyone to work together in a fun and positive way,” she said.
Sign up is preferred by August 23, but they will accept entries after that. Any age can compete but there needs to be one person who can drive a car.
