This month, Farmer’s Daughters, which champions Gippsland produce, will re-launch its Rooftop as an all new dining space and intimate wine bar.
Remaining true to the venue’s ethos, the refurbished space will shine a spotlight on the finest wines from the Gippsland region, accompanied by seasonal share plates to be enjoyed in a refreshed fit-out.
The all-weather Rooftop now offers a whole new dining space for the three-storey venue, the relaxed green oasis features new plush banquette seating and a reimagined food and drink offering.
Formerly a walk-ins only space, the Rooftop will also now take bookings, catering to both small and large groups as well as single tables for normal trade.
Additionally, the revamped space is a perfect place to hold unique private and corporate functions.
Drawing inspiration from its rich Gippsland roots, the refreshed wine list — carefully curated by Renascence Group’s expert sommeliers, led by Sommelier Matthew Jensen, will exclusively showcase selections from some of the region’s most renowned producers, such as William Downie, Bass Phillip, and Patrick Sullivan, alongside boutique producers like Carrajung Estate, Fleet Wines, Lightfoot and more.
Available to enjoy by the glass or by the bottle, the thoughtfully crafted menu will cater to both seasoned wine connoisseurs and enthusiastic novices alike.
Guests will find the menu organised by characteristic and flavour profile, ensuring an approachable and enjoyable experience, complemented by personalised recommendations from the experienced sommeliers.
The seasonal shared plates and small bites menu focuses on championing an array of Gippsland’s finest produce.
Current highlights include Amber Creek leg ham with Powlett Reserve feijoa and wholegrain mustard; Lakes Entrance crudo with lime, orange, smoked green chili, and coriander; pasture-raised chicken and celeriac pie with kale and tarragon butter sauce, and 200g lamb loin with squash puree and black currant vinaigrette.
For those with a sweet tooth, desserts include Jersey cream panna cotta with poached prune, bee pollen, and honey syrup.
Of the refreshed space, Farmer’s Daughters Executive Chef Alejandro Saravia said: “At Farmer’s Daughters, we’re committed to delivering an unparalleled guest experience.
“To keep pace and evolve with Melbourne’s dynamic hospitality industry and enhance our offering, we’ve reimagined our Rooftop as a vibrant and cosy wine bar. This new space is a homage to our Gippsland roots, harmoniously blending rustic charm with a touch of Melbourne’s urban sophistication,” he said.
He continues,”Our curated collection of Gippsland wines, complemented by a menu showcasing the finest local produce, tells the revision’s story.
“Our sommeliers are prepared to perfectly pair each guest’s palate with the ideal wine and dish.”
