The Kalimna Jetty Walk, known as the Loop Walk, is closed until the end of June as East Gippsland Shire Council completes an upgrade.
The path will have an improved gravel surface and rock will be installed to mitigate further erosion of the shoreline.
“During the closure, pedestrians are asked to observe the construction signs and any directions from the contractor including traffic management directions,” a council spokesperson said.
Council secured funding from the Commonwealth Government for a range of new works to improve the visitor experience in Kalimna. Part of the works involve creating a loop walking trail linking the key attractions of the scenic lookout on Hotel Road, Kalimna Jetty, Jemmys Point and Jemmys Point Reserve.
