The Stratford and District Angling Club recently enjoyed a cracking weekend at Dargo, with the Harry Smith Shield up for grabs.
They were delighted to get 28 families attend, with the weather spot-on.
Even better, three of the families were first time participants, who signed up as members over the weekend.
This year’s Harry Smith Shield was won by Matt Shingels for his magnificent 730 gram trout.
The junior section was won by Jack Cartwright for his 558 gram specimen.
The club’s next outing is to Lake Eucumbene/Buckenderra from October 1-5.
It will be four days of fishing and camping, with cabins available, with fishing from a boat or the bank.
Being the club’s first Eucumbene trip, they are keen to get another good crew together and hopefully make this a regular event on the club calendar.
