East Gippsland Music will showcase five of its ensemble groups during a special fundraising concert at the Forge Theatre on Sunday, October 4.
The East Gippsland Musical Extravaganza will feature performances by the Training Band, East Gippsland Brass, East Gippsland Symphonia, The Gentlemen’s Choir, and the East Gippsland Big Band.
Running from 2pm to 5pm, the afternoon concert aims to raise funds to purchase new uniform hats for the organisation’s 100 members.
The performance program will span a diverse range of genres, from traditional brass band arrangements to classical concert pieces and the full sound of the big band era.
East Gippsland Music has a rich local heritage, having originally formed as the Bairnsdale Citizens Band in 1919.
The community organisation has entertained the region for 107 years, operating as a volunteer band that today includes three generations of musicians, with some members having performed for more than five decades.
Tickets for the event are available through Humanitix, with the performance hosted at the Forge Theatre, located at 80 McKean Street, Bairnsdale.
