Modified ride-on mowers will bring high-octane family entertainment to the region when lawn mower racing returns to Granite Rock Speedway this Saturday.
Organised in partnership with the Australian Ride On Lawn Mower Racing Association (AROLMRA), the grassroots event will feature modified mowers competing across “A”, “B”, “C” and junior classes, alongside a standard mower round for local contenders to test their skills.
Racers will battle through four rounds of heats before progressing to the finals, delivering fast-paced wheel-to-wheel action on the Granite Rock dirt track.
Gates will open at 9am, with official racing scheduled to commence at 10am.
Alongside the track action, families can enjoy children’s activities, raffles, and a canteen run by local volunteers, with proceeds supporting the Johnsonville Fire Brigade.
The event is held at Granite Rock Speedway, located off Deptford Road on the northern outskirts of Bairnsdale. Admission is by gold coin entry at the gate.
