A business built on trust

by
23 September 2026
in Local News

For more than four decades, Nick Morelli has been serving the people of Sale and Gippsland.

His journey began in January 1980, working in electrical retail with Kelly Brothers before later joining Billy Guyatt.

Those early years taught him the importance of genuine customer service, honesty and building lasting relationships with the community.

On February 1, 1999, Nick and his family opened Morelli’s Furniture and Bedtime with a simple philosophy: treat every customer as though they were family.

Nearly three decades later, that philosophy remains unchanged.

Throughout the years, Morelli’s has grown to become much more than a furniture and bedding store.

The business has proudly supplied homes, sporting clubs, government departments and community organisations across Gippsland, earning a reputation for quality products, personalised service and dependable advice.

As the retail landscape has changed, so too has the business.

Morelli’s recently expanded with its Movement and Mobility Centre, helping people maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.

What began as a small part of the business has grown rapidly, reflecting the increasing demand for mobility and healthcare products throughout the region.

Despite constantly changing economic conditions, Morelli’s continues to invest in the local community while remaining independently owned and operated.

Nick believes the success of the business has always come down to the loyalty of its customers and the dedication of his staff.

Looking ahead, Nick is excited about the future, with a vision of seeing the business continue through the next generation under the leadership of his son, Sam.

It’s a continuation of the family values that have guided Morelli’s from the very beginning.

After more than 46 years serving the people of Gippsland, Nick remains grateful for the support of the community that has stood by him.

His commitment is the same today as it was on day one – to provide exceptional service, quality products and genuine care for every customer who walks through the door.

At Morelli’s Furniture and Bedtime, it’s never just been about selling furniture.

It’s about helping people create comfortable homes and improving lives, one family at a time.
