Inner Peace In Home Nursing and Care has celebrated four years of caring for the East Gippsland community, marking the milestone with new services and a growing team.
Founder and director of care Annette Keat said the last four years have been both challenging and rewarding, and the team is excited for the future.
The service provides care in the comfort of clients’ own homes, including personal care, social care and nursing care.
This year the organisation welcomed a new service to its suite of care, adding dementia care and expanding its palliative care service.
Dementia Nurse Consultant Lisa Tyter joined the team earlier this year, bringing a wealth of knowledge across the aged care system and a passion for caring for both people living with dementia and their families.
Ms Tyter said dementia is now the leading cause of death in Australia, and it would be inspiring to see East Gippsland leading the way in supporting those impacted by the condition.
Dementia Australia is encouraging all Australian communities to start talking about dementia during Dementia Action Week, running from September 21–25, 2026.
“Research suggests there is a negative stigma associated with dementia and it’s time to change that,” Ms Tyter said.
Both Ms Keat and Ms Tyter, along with the caring team, are looking forward to continuing to support people to remain independent, connect people to services, and support families and carers.
