Thursday night singles competition winners at the Lakes Entrance Tennis Club in term three were Juliet McGinty and Fiona Rawson. (PS)

Lakes Entrance Tennis Club has recently had two big weeks of finals after a successful term of tennis competitions.

The Thursday night singles competition, which has been a great success, saw the team of Juliet McGinty and Fiona Rawson win five sets to one over Kim Van Kooten and James Murphy. In the Tuesday doubles final, Sweet Shots, represented by Wayne Jennings, Yann Gardin, Fiona Rawson and Peter Robertson, was victorious over Broken Strings.

Lakes Entrance Tennis Club is now offering two nights of competition each week, providing opportunities for both experienced and social players to get involved.

Thursday nights feature a singles and doubles competition for two-person teams, while the club’s popular Tuesday

night doubles competition continues to grow each term.

The term four summer season will begin on Tuesday, October 6, for the doubles competition and the Thursday singles a few weeks later, with new players warmly welcomed.

There is no need to organise your own team, as players are graded and teams are arranged by the competition organisers.

Tuesday matches begin at 6pm, with players completing three sets of doubles, played to six games.

At the end of the night, players can enjoy pizza together, with the club bar also open.

Anyone interested in joining as a permanent player or registering as a fill-in for term four is encouraged to text Jess (details available at the Lakes Post and Printing office).
