Sale Tennis Club will throw open its courts on Sunday, September 13, for its annual Open Day as preparations heat up ahead of next month’s Wellington Gippsland Tennis Association season.
The club is encouraging local junior and senior players of all experience levels to attend the free community event, which blends social play with off-court festivities.
Activities commence at midday with a complimentary lunch, followed by three sets of social tennis starting at 1pm. Attendees looking for a more relaxed afternoon can enjoy light refreshments, with an afternoon tea scheduled following the final matches.
The day features a monster raffle, spinning wheel, and giveaways, along with official proceedings honouring the club’s Life Members and their long-standing contributions.
In particular, the club will welcome members of the Flint and Best families to celebrate their enduring legacy with Sale Tennis Club.
Three perpetual honours will be contested on the day: the Ian Flint Memorial Trophy, the Monica Best Memorial Trophy, and the Keith Best Memorial Trophy.
The event is free and open to the entire community, with new players and prospective members strongly encouraged to take part.
