THUMBS UP: Thanks to the two paramedics who went the extra mile (or 200 kilometres) over their shift last week to take me to Bairnsdale hospital from Orbost.
THUMBS DOWN: Publicly shaming those with substance abuse on social media is a low act. Be better.
THUMBS UP: To the two young ladies on the checkout at IGA Eastwood who use their manners when asking for payment.
THUMBS DOWN: Shame on the person who refused my 79-year-old husband the use of a phone to call for help after his car key malfunctioned and locked him out of the car. Was told to find a public phone.
THUMBS UP: To those of us who get their news from qualified and professional journalists, via reputable news organisations with track records of accuracy and balance. My pity for those addicted to reassuring “facts”, from social media platforms fine-tuned to benefit their billionaire owners.
THUMBS DOWN: To the mess left behind by the ‘campers’ that were the other side of Howitt Park. It is an eyesore (the rubbish) and needs to be cleaned up by the council stat.
THUMBS DOWN: To the person/s who stole a man’s wool pack full of recyclable cans from the Bairnsdale football ground after the EGFNL grand finals.
THUMBS UP: We would like to thank al the paramedics that came the day my husband suffered a stroke. They arrived swiftly after getting the call. Thank you to the doctors at the Bairnsdale hospital who treated him before being transferred to Sale hospital where he stayed in the critical care unit for eight days.
THUMBS UP: To the Omeo District and East Gippsland Football Netball League for keeping grand final entries prices low to allow as many patrons in as possible. At the weekend I went to two Melbourne suburban league grand finals – $20 and $23 just to walk in. Ridiculous.
