Wattle Haus, the creative concept built around “permaculture within the arts,” returns with Showcase 03 — another gloriously unpredictable collision of music, art, and performance.
The initiative brings together local acts, experimental artists performers, and creative misfits from across different disciplines to create one-off experiences in far East Gippsland.
Divided into three distinct sections — soft machines, electro/cerebral, and the nosebleed section — the showcase brings together emerging and established talent. The evening will feature avant-garde culture, experimental sounds, spoken word, electronic textures, alternative rock, complex metal and performance art, intertwined with moving projections and live painting.
The lineup includes CONSCRIPT featuring classical pianist Julie Lockhart, the sounds of Billie Spokes, multi-talented duo WAWAZAT!, and grassroots folk singer Ashley Carmody, who will record his set live for release on a German record label.
The electro/cerebral section features experimental spoken word artists such as tFAMi, alongside electronic acts Synthient and RECKREATOR, before leading into the atmospheric fuzz of Shadowtones and the primal thrash of KRONK.
Visual artist Mat “Blue” Selwyn will create a live painting alongside the musical performances, accompanied by dynamic moving projections throughout the venue. Outdoors in the lantern-lit courtyard gardens of Lakes Entrance’s Iceworks, Robin from The Local will serve fresh wood-fired pizza, bespoke ice cream, and beverages.
Organisers invite the community to set aside daily routines for one night and step into a unique, immersive cultural experiment.
Wattle Haus 03 takes place on Saturday, September 12, from 5pm to 9.30pm at Iceworks.3909, located at 5 Carpenter Street, Lakes Entrance.
