THUMBS UP: To those who turn away from the seductive and destructive hatred of those we disagree with, but instead strive hard to communicate with (and learn from) the concerns and desires of others.
THUMBS DOWN: To those who profit financially, politically and emotionally from stirring the anger and ghosting of our adversaries and convenient scapegoats.
THUMBS UP: To Bruthen Football Netball Club for hosting a hugely successful Omeo District Football Netball League grand final day last Saturday. The packed and well-behaved crowd made for a great atmosphere, and the players put on a great spectacle. Also congratulations to the winners – to Bruthen for winning three of the five premiership up for grabs, and Omeo Benambra’s junior footballers and “A” grade netballers. The netball three-peat is a tremendous feat.
THUMBS UP: To the people taking the challenge of starting a business, or opening a new business in Lakes Entrance. There is now so much variety in our local culinary world.
