A large crowd of over 60 anglers joined in the discussion last week at the Recreational Fishing Forum in Lakes Entrance. (PS)

Over 60 anglers recently attended the free Recreational Fishing Forum in Lakes Entrance at the Gippsland Lakes Fishing Club.

The event was facilitated by the Victorian Fishing Authority (VFA), their on their current recreational fishing forum tour.

Mark Adams, Rohan Nicol, Taylor Hunt and Anthony Forster were on site to share updates and hear directly from the community about the issues and opportunities shaping recreational fishing in Gippsland.

The discussion covered booming bream and dusky flathead fishing in the Gippsland Lakes following net removal, marine stocking, carp control, habitat restoration projects, the Angler Diary Program and much more.

Gippsland Creel Officer, Kevin Watson and VFA legend Frank Greenhalgh were in attendance, sharing their knowledge and experience with local fishers.

The VFA thankful of the support of the Gippsland Lakes Fishing Club and all anglers who came along for a great night of discussion on the future of fishing in Victoria.
