Wairewa volunteer firefighters recently welcomed a major equipment upgrade, with the arrival of a new quick response vehicle delivering a significant boost to emergency response capabilities across the district.
The new vehicle and accompanying operational gear were secured following a successful grant application through the Victorian Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP), combined with ongoing local fundraising efforts by the brigade.
Wairewa Fire Brigade members expressed their gratitude to the community and volunteers whose hard work and patience made the long-awaited delivery possible.
Brigade representatives noted that seeing the new equipment arrive makes the countless hours spent fundraising and volunteering to keep the local community safe entirely worthwhile.
The quick response vehicle is now fully prepped to service the Wairewa brigade area and assist neighbouring communities during emergency incidents across the region.
