Volunteer lifesavers and aquatic industry professionals from across Victoria were recognised and celebrated at Life Saving Victoria’s (LSV) Awards of Excellence.
The annual event is an opportunity to acknowledge those who have made an outstanding contribution to public water safety.
The Awards recognise LSV volunteers who have excelled in all facets of lifesaving including emergency response, training, education, Nippers, sport, officiating and club administration.
One of Lakes Entrance’s own, Jessica Woodward, was among the recipients to be recognised for her dedication to not only Surf Life Saving Lakes Entrance but also the wider organisation in the state Victoria.
Jessica was awarded the Graeme Long Memorial Medal for Volunteer of the Year and stated that it was a privilege to represent her club, as well as the state in the Youth Development space.
“I work with an incredible team, and this honour is just as much theirs as it is mine,” she said.
“I would also like to acknowledge the other nominees – Gippsland was well represented across the board. We had nominations across all four clubs, which is outstanding.”
