Members of the Bairnsdale Classic Car Club gathered at Club Eastwood recently before departing on a group cruise to the Bones Cafe in Lakes Entrance.
The club organised the run to show solidarity and financial support for the local business, which has faced trading headwinds due to ongoing regional roadworks. Members enjoyed a morning tea of fresh coffee and scones, with club representative Max Curtis thanking cafe manager Ryley Hubbard and his team for their warm hospitality and attentive service.
Following morning tea, several keen anglers in the group traveled to the canal at Bullock Island for a relaxing afternoon of fishing in the sunshine.
While most of the fishing party hauled in little more than crabs and weed, Valerie Curtis provided the highlight of the outing by landing an impressive catch that easily outshone the male anglers.
Supported by lighthearted camaraderie — complete with bait supplied by Mr Curtis and fresh donuts provided by fellow member Pepe — the group enjoyed a successful community outing and confirmed plans to return to Bullock Island for future fishing days.
