East Gippsland Shire Council is calling on residents and stakeholders to help shape the future of the Nowa Nowa Foreshore as community consultation opens on a new draft master plan for the precinct.
Developed in collaboration with local community members, the proposed plan outlines contemporary upgrades designed to establish the foreshore as a more vibrant, accessible destination for both locals and visitors.
In light of recent high-water events across the region, Council confirmed that every proposed priority within the master plan will be rigorously tested against Nowa Nowa’s localised flood modelling prior to finalisation.
To ensure community voices are captured, Council is hosting an all-day drop-in session where residents can review the draft concept and discuss ideas directly with project officers.
The final community feedback session will take place today, Wednesday, August 19, at the Nowa Nowa General Store, running continuously from 7.30am to 4.30pm. Community members are welcome to drop in at any point throughout the day to chat
through the plans.
For those unable to attend the in-person drop-in session, submissions can be made online via council’s community engagement survey, in person at Shire service centres, or over the phone.
Public feedback on the Nowa Nowa Foreshore Draft Master Plan closes at 5pm on Sunday, August 23.
