Harmony Lane Gallery in Lakes Entrance recently welcomed local residents for a Friday evening soiree to launch the inaugural exhibition of textile artist Vicki Brady.
Community members gathered at the gallery to celebrate Ms Brady’s first solo display, showcasing her unique range of textile and mixed-media creations.
Based in Lakes Entrance, Ms Brady specialises in stitching, natural eco-dyeing and handcrafted wearable art, drawing inspiration from the region’s coastal surroundings.
Her technique often combines painted backgrounds with free-motion machine embroidery, layering found objects into one-of-a-kind art pieces to add history and texture.
Across her broader creative practice, Ms Brady works fluidly between eco-dyeing, painting, crochet and knitting to design bespoke garments and handcrafted art.
Her clothing label, Victoria 9, is available exclusively through Harmony Lane.
Harmony Lane collaborator Atina Baker invited locals and tourists to view the new collection in person.
“You will find us down the lane and consider yourself invited to come and visit, enjoy the delightful artwork Vicki has created in so many meaningful ways,” Ms Baker said.
Located at Shop 2/239 Esplanade, Lakes Entrance, Harmony Lane pairs its monthly feature gallery exhibits with a curated retail space representing more than 24 regional artists, makers and suppliers.
Founder Margie Barrett-Poole established the destination to combine artisan retail with dedicated health services, incorporating remedial massage, an infrared sauna, Spinal Flow therapy, meditation sessions and creative workshops into the space.
Ms Baker said the goal was to provide a welcoming hub focused on local craft and personal wellness.
“Harmony Lane was born from a desire to establish a go-to haven where our local community and visitors are welcome to browse, explore and delight in our variety of wellness offers in addition to our curated maker and artisan shopping experience,” Ms Baker said.
“We aim to enhance our township and build a sanctuary always with the intention to create connection.”
Harmony Lane is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the team comprising Margie Barrett-Poole, Atina Baker, Marlene, Vicki Brady and Kasia on hand to assist visitors.
