Regular Bairnsdale parkrun participant Ben Saxon led the field home on Saturday morning at the Lakes Entrance edition of the weekly event.
Saxon was one of 37 runners and walkers who took to the five-kilometre course along the esplanade, completing the picturesque sojourn in 19 minutes and 16 seconds.
Enthusiasts hit the track to run, jog or walk — some chasing personal fitness goals and others simply enjoying the community camaraderie on offer.
Jess George was the first female finisher across the line, recording a time of 19 minutes and 16 seconds.
The event welcomed eight first-time participants, while four runners set new personal benchmarks: Michael Calleja (21.06), Brendan Fiedler (27.19), Nathan Suggate (31.49), and Anne Williams (45.33).
Participants represented five different clubs on the day, including Lakes and District Runners, East Gippsland Runners, Athletics Waverley, Melbourne Midday Milers, and BRB Run Club.
Lakes Entrance parkrun departs from the Esplanade Rotunda at 8am every Saturday morning and welcomes participants of all fitness levels and abilities.
Since launching on February 3, 2018, the local event has seen 5071 participants cross the finish line.
