There was plenty of reason for celebration in the clubrooms on Saturday night at the Lakes Entrance Football Netball Club after the Seagulls swept all three football grades against arch-rival and nearest neighbour, Orbost Snowy Rovers.
The thirds kicked off round 15 of the East Gippsland Football Netball League with a massive 118-point victory over the Blues, who had entered the match full of confidence following a win over Wy Yung the previous week.
Lakes kept Orbost goalless in the first half, heading into the main break with a commanding 74-point lead.
The Blues kicked their first major in the third term courtesy of young Mitch Herbert, but the Seagulls continued on their merry way, playing four consistent quarters to demonstrate why they sit atop the competition ladder.
Xavier Pepper, Oscar Hopkins, Zane Holley and Leroy Hayes all finished with three goals, while Harper Davis chipped in with two.
Hopkins sits second on the league goalkicking table with 40 goals, 10 behind runaway leader Monty Mayman.
Among the best for the dominant Seagulls were Charlie Forrester, Pepper, Davis, Hayes, Thomas Graham and Cooper Anderson.
The reserves recorded another emphatic victory in a standout season, where their only two losses have come at the hands of ladder-leader and defending premier Boisdale Briagolong.
Lakes Entrance defeated the Blues by 150 points, keeping them goalless throughout the contest. It marked the seventh time in 15 matches the Seagulls have kept their opposition under 10 points.
Nathan Bottom was again the beneficiary of constant inside-50 surges, finishing the match with eight goals. The haul took his season total to 87, placing him in a strong position to reach the century mark in the final home-and-away fixture against Wy Yung at Bullumwaal Road.
Others to cash in on the goal-kicking bonanza were Zac Hooper (five), James Daly (three), along with Ben Rotheram and Kurt Grabham (two each).
Disappointingly for the Seagulls, skipper Kaleb Day suffered a lower-leg fracture and will likely miss the remainder of the season.
Best players for the rampant Seagulls were Michael Sowden, Hooper, Bottom, Grabham, Matthew Duggan and Sam East.
