THUMBS UP: To East Gippsland Shire who promptly sent two men to help me (a Wildlife Victoria volunteer) lift a drain grate in order to successfully release a parrot who was stuck.
THUMBS DOWN: One Bairnsdale supermarket has resumed the archaic practice of searching women’s handbags. How is it that men inside the shop are not suspects, and get a friendly greeting instead?
THUMBS UP: To East Gippsland Shire in general, and the work crew based in Omeo specifically, for the terrific job they have done pruning the low branches on the John Armit Avenue trees just north of Swifts Creek. Now the trees can be mown under it looks sensational.
THUMBS DOWN: To the Silt Jetty Road in Eagle Point which is in desperate need of road grading. Even in our four wheel drive, it was hard work.
THUMBS DOWN: To the scumbag who stole from the E Sports Store in Macleod Street. You stole from a non profit children’s group who cannot afford to replace stolen items.
