Nominations are now open for junior golfers wishing to represent Golf East Gippsland at the upcoming Junior Country Regions 36-hole stroke event.
This year’s tournament will take place on October 17 and 18 at the Terang Golf Club.
To be eligible for selection, players must be under 18 years of age as of October 17, hold a Golf Australia handicap of 30 or lower, and have completed a minimum of five competition rounds at their home club or in designated District events.
Due to the travel distance to Terang, the team will depart on Friday, October 16, and return following the conclusion of play on Sunday, October 18. As the tournament falls outside of school holidays, participating players will be required to take leave from school on the Friday.
Organizers noted that prospective players are also strongly encouraged to compete in the East Gippsland Golf Championships on Sunday, August 30, at the Maffra Golf Club to assist with selection considerations.
Travel costs and accommodation for the Junior Country Regions event will be fully covered by Golf East Gippsland.
